Privacy Policy for Spooly
Last Updated: January 26, 2026
Spooly (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our Spooly mobile application (the “Service”).
We are committed to the principle that your 3D printing data is yours. We do not collect, store, or share your personal data or your print files on our servers.
A. Local Network Data
Spooly communicates directly with your 3D printer (via Klipper/Moonraker API) over your local network.
- Printer Status: Temperatures, progress, G-code filenames, and video feeds are fetched directly from your printer to your device.
- Storage: This data is displayed in real-time and may be cached locally on your device for performance (e.g., G-code path previews, print history). It is not transmitted to us.
B. Remote Access Data (OctoEverywhere)
If you choose to link your OctoEverywhere account:
- Authentication: We securely store your OctoEverywhere tokens in your device’s secure Keychain.
- Transmission: App communication happens directly between your device and the hosted service provider (OctoEverywhere). We do not act as an intermediary and do not see your credentials.
C. Usage Data
The application does not use third-party analytics services (like Google Analytics or Firebase) to track your behavior. No user identifiers or behavioral data are sent to external servers.
D. Crash Logs
Apple may collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostics if you have opted-in to share “App Analytics” with developers in your iOS settings. This data helps us fix bugs and improve performance but contains no personal information.
Since we do not collect your personal information, we do not use it for marketing, advertising, or analysis.
- Device Functionality: All data processing (parsing G-code, rendering 3D previews, calculating stats) happens locally on your iPhone or iPad.
- iCloud Sync (Optional): If you use app features that support iCloud (such as syncing known printers across devices), that data is stored in your private iCloud container, managed by Apple. We cannot access it.
3. Data Retention and Deletion
- On Your Device: You have full control over the data stored on your device. You can clear your print history or remove printers directly within the app settings.
- Uninstall: Deleting the app will remove all locally stored data, including printer configurations, history, and cached files.
4. Third-Party Services
Our Service enables you to interact with third-party hardware and services:
- Elegoo: The firmware on your printer.
- OctoEverywhere: A remote access service. Please refer to OctoEverywhere’s Privacy Policy for how they handle your data when using their service.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
